Through whakawhanaungatanga kohikohi has already begun. Kohikohi is gathering rich information.

In your LSC role you may be considering from whakawhanaungatanga:

  • ‘What am I learning already through my connections and my conversations?’
  • ‘What am I noticing as I listen and observe?’
  • 'How am I validating cultural beliefs, values and practices of ākonga, whānau and kaiako from the outset?'

As an LSC you may be part of further information gathering. You and your team will make decisions about how to gather information, from whom and for what purpose.

Taking care in kohikohi is essential as you have the mana of ākonga, whānau and kaiako to respect.
